Donut, Chanukah Edition: Sufganiyot
It is a tradition during Chanukah to eat foods fried in oil such as latkas (potato pancakes) and donuts, aka sufganiyot (soof-gah-nee-yote). Sufganiyot are a hot item and sell out rapidly but I was able to score a quad at the local pizza shop. I cannot explain why the pizza shop was making donuts, but it works for me.
What’s in the pizza box??!?!?
Not pizza! DONUT!!!!!
Donut: Dough is very tasty, flavorful but not too sweet. Donut looks like a light puff, but it;s actually more substantial and a touch cakey. As is traditional with sufganiyot, these are raspberry filled.
Kudos: I like the novelty of getting donuts at a pizza place.
Overall: These donuts are large and quite filling so I could only eat one. However I wanted two (or more). YUM!
